sometimes you hear a voice through the door calling you . . .
this turning toward what you deeply love saves you.
                      -rumi

it is a beautiful september day in seattle and i just returned from doing what i love to do best: teach yoga!

i've been teaching for almost ten years and each year my joy and gratitude deepens. this morning i led a vigorous hour and a half vinyasa flow filled with laughter as we played with challenging balance poses, flying in warrior three and half moon, testing our wings and flirting with gravity. we soaked in the strength of warrior one and two, side angle, and triangle pose, building heat with a strong invigorating sequence, before resting in child's pose, drinking in the prana of our practice. savasana came as a gift at the end of class, a place of deep surrender and restoration.

i am continually inspired by my students and by the journey of this practice, a practice that flows from our hearts and that strengthens and opens our bodies and our minds. i encourage my students to listen to the wisdom of their bodies and the radiance of their hearts, to meet their edge with compassion and humor and of course to play!

as we continue to play, to learn and to grow, we find that our practice transcends the mat and permeates every moment of our life. what a ride! i often think of my mat as a magic carpet and a sacred place to ground . . . get ready to fly and to rest in the center of your being.

                      with joy & gratitude,
                      dani
